The Vivienne Westwood Jewellery Show is set to debut in Bangkok, offering an exclusive opportunity for fashion enthusiasts, collectors, designers, and art lovers to explore the creative legacy of Dame Vivienne Westwood.

Bangkok is set to host a new exhibition celebrating Vivienne Westwood’s four-decade journey in jewelry design, marking the first time her archive pieces and runway creations from over 40 years are displayed together. Curated directly by the brand’s creative team, the show explores how accessories became central to Westwood’s iconic status in British fashion history.

A Celebration of Fashion’s Most Recognizable Visionary

Westwood launched her design career in 1971 and achieved global recognition by the late 1970s as a trailblazer of punk fashion, reshaping how accessories were perceived in the industry through bold, unconventional statements.

A key moment came in 1989 when Westwood collaborated with Andreas Kronthaler, who later became her partner and longtime co-creator. Their combined influences—spanning European heritage, classical art, tailoring traditions, and contemporary activism—solidified the brand’s reputation as a leader in luxury fashion.

Beyond her designs, Westwood gained global respect for her advocacy of environmental conservation, ethical production, and human rights, principles deeply integrated into her work and public campaigns. The Bangkok exhibition is structured into eight thematic sections, each representing a distinct phase of the brand’s evolution.

Eight Immersive Exhibition Spaces

Attendees will journey from the roots of punk culture to surreal fantasy areas, eco-conscious DIY concepts, and 18th-century European jewelry traditions, culminating in the ‘Orb’ gallery, a tribute to the brand’s most famous symbol. Each space blends jewelry displays, vintage garments, runway footage, visual art, and multimedia to create an all-encompassing experience.

Together, these elements create an engaging retrospective illustrating the constant dialogue between clothing and jewellery that has defined the Vivienne Westwood aesthetic for decades. Jewellery as a language of identity is a key theme, with Vivienne Westwood viewing jewellery as a powerful means of storytelling, rather than serving purely decorative purposes.

Throughout the brand’s evolution, jewellery became a signature element capable of transforming garments while allowing wearers to express confidence and originality. The exhibition’s major highlights include the story behind the internationally recognized Orb emblem, created in 1985, which combines the traditional British royal orb with Saturn’s rings, symbolizing the connection between Britain’s historical heritage and a vision of the future.

Creative Director Andreas Kronthaler explained that jewellery remains one of the brand’s most powerful creative tools because it enhances facial features, adds dimension to the body, and allows every wearer to project their unique personality. He also described jewellery as something that carries emotional meaning, often marking life’s most memorable occasions while becoming treasured personal possessions. The exhibition will feature exclusive merchandise for collectors, including limited-edition jewellery and commemorative T-shirts available at the official Vivienne Westwood Exhibition Shop.

The exhibition has been produced in collaboration with Nomad Exhibitions, whose touring exhibition philosophy places sustainability at the center of every project. For the Bangkok presentation, careful attention has been given to reducing waste through the reuse and recycling of exhibition materials while maintaining world-class display standards.

The exhibition’s international tour will continue in 2027, with plans to visit Europe and the United States, further solidifying Vivienne Westwood’s global presence.
