The world’s largest jewellery show returns to Hong Kong this September, marking the return of a major industry hub following a period of disruption. Informa Markets announced on Tuesday that JGW (Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong) will open its doors from September 14 to 18 at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE). The event will feature more than 3,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries, connecting international buyers with the suppliers needed to stock the holiday market.
The trade show spans two venues and six specialised fairs tailored to specific product categories. At AsiaWorld-Expo, three co-located fairs will focus on precious materials. These include Gemstones, Diamonds & Fine Gems, and Pearls+. The Diamond Pavilion, one of the world’s largest, will showcase fancy colour diamonds and flawless stones in excellent cuts. The Fine Gem Pavilion and Gemstone Pavilion will also be present, offering a high concentration of loose gemstone suppliers in a single location.
Buyers will find Akoya, South Sea, Tahitian, and freshwater pearls at the Pearl Pavilion. Dealers specialising in conch and melo pearls will also be present. At the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), three shows from September 16 to 20 will cover finished jewellery, packaging solutions, tools, and technology. These include Hong Kong, International, and Fine Design halls. The CORE Pavilion and Premier Pavilion will highlight the best of the local industry and the latest trends in luxury styles.

According to the announcement, the sector faces a “perfect storm” of challenges. Geopolitical uncertainties, rising sustainability expectations, and the growth of social commerce are reshaping the market. “JGW September draws everyone in the industry to make sense of it all,” said Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs. “Giving our community the connections and insights they need to turn these challenges into opportunities.”
Allen Xiang, General Manager for Jewellery, noted that scale matters during these times. “JGW is not only about sourcing − it’s about discovery,” Xiang said. “We have brought together quality exhibitors, a product range that gives buyers real choice, attendees who come ready to do business and a city built for global trade − Hong Kong.”
While the event provides a venue for sourcing and networking, the current economic climate suggests that the success of these trade fairs remains a point of observation for observers tracking Asia’s luxury sector. The ability of international buyers to return to physical markets in large numbers could signal a stabilisation in global trade flows that have been affected by recent border restrictions and travel policies.

The show will feature the Gender-Fluid Coloured Gem Jewellery Design Challenge. This competition recognises creative excellence in two tracks: students from across Asia and professionals supported by the Taotian Group. Three award recipients per category—Brooch, Earrings, and Ring—will be selected through a scoring system involving judges and public votes. Winners will be celebrated at the JGW Fair Reception on September 16.
Other key attractions include the NextGen Coloured Gem Excellence Awards by JWA 2026, which honours entrepreneurs under 45. The GEM+ 2026 networking event will examine themes like social commerce in China and sustainable practices across the supply chain. Additionally, Sublime Shine 2.0 will return with live demonstrations on metal innovations, supported by the World Gold Council and Platinum Guild International.
Online pre-registration for JGW September remains open until September 6. Informa’s Exhibitor Finder tool will also be available to help attendees connect with suppliers through smart recommendations.
