JGW September, organized by Informa Markets, brings over 3,000 exhibitors from 40-plus countries, showcasing gemstones, diamonds, pearls, and finished jewellery at AsiaWorld-Expo and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets, stresses the importance of seeing gemstones in person due to lighting conditions affecting colour and clarity. She also highlights the fair’s role in identifying emerging trends and products gaining market attention.

Nature-Inspired Pieces Dominate
Nature themes prevail at the event. Johosa Jewelry presents a conch-inspired brooch with cabochon opals and rose-cut fancy sapphires. Yue Ding Jewelry offers an 18-karat gold brooch and earrings pairing spinel with tsavorite, while Hodel’s “The Royal Macaw” pendant features a South Sea Keshi pearl. The show caters to diverse price points and categories, including nature-inspired jewellery, fancy colour diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls, and everyday luxury, reflecting growing demand for both high-end and accessible options.
Diamonds, Coloured Stones, and Pearls in Focus
Fancy colour diamonds draw significant attention. LJ West Diamonds displays a platinum ring with a 5-carat pear-shaped natural chameleon green diamond. Antwerp Cut plans to showcase orange, blue, green, and Argyle pink diamonds, while AV Globale presents a natural yellow diamond collection. Coloured gemstone offerings include Mozambique rubies, Colombian emeralds, and a natural, untreated cabochon sapphire weighing over 60 carats. Pearl collections range from South Sea baroque to Tahitian pearl strands, conch pearl jewellery, and golden South Sea pearls, moving beyond traditional strand formats.
Everyday Luxury and Tech-Forward Designs
The fair emphasizes “everyday luxury,” with Zen Diamond presenting its Pavé Collection, Fine Jewellery Manufacturing showcasing coloured gemstone rings, and MagicWire Asia featuring its “Samoa” bracelet with shape-memory technology. These pieces aim to bridge the gap between fine jewellery and daily wear, suggesting exhibitors bet on cautious optimism rather than full-throttle premium spending.
